1. You don’t have time
For this to really work, you need at least 12 months’ worth of emails. That’s at least 90 emails. How long would it take you to write 90 emails?
2. You don’t know what to write about
In order to not send your subscribers running for the “unsubscribe” link (or worse… the SPAM button), your content has to NOT annoy people. It needs to be interesting, informative, and engaging. Do you know how to write like that?
3. You don’t know HOW to write promotions
Again, the secret here is to not irritate people so much that they hit the SPAM button — BUT you still need to make sales. This is a hard balance for even the big players (many will hire an expert to do it for them).
4. You don’t know how to get people to subscribe
You can’t just slap a “sign up for my newsletter” box on your site: You need to offer an incentive for them to sign up — some “bait”, so to speak. Do you have some bait ready and waiting? If not, factor in some time or money for creating that too.
5. You can’t write well … and you can’t afford to hire someone.
Most experienced affiliates won’t write all these emails or create the “bait” themselves. They’ll pay someone else. They don’t mind dropping $2,000 or more to get this done because they know they’ll earn it back eventually. Plus they’re already making money, so it’s easy for them. But for anyone else? $2,000 is a HUGE chunk of change, especially when you’re not even sure what these emails should say…
The result? The rich get richer… and YOU get nowhere
